happy year of the horse! last weekend, i spent the afternoon with my sister at the lunar new year festival in monterey park. it was fun to walk around and enjoy the festivities.


it was also quite a sight to see thousands of people packed within a few blocks.


there were so many shops and cute things for sale,


and lots of interesting looking food. like octopus on skewers.


one booth was selling dragon's hair candy, something i've never seen or heard of before. it was pretty interesting to watch the person make it because it looked like fluffy, stringy cotton candy.
