i took a trip to the pacific asia museum which was recently taken over by usc. it has been almost two years since my last visit, so i was excited to see some of the new exhibits. plus, this is one of my favorite museums to take pictures at because the photography restrictions are pretty lax.

the current exhibit, 'ralli quilts: contemporary textiles from pakistan', features beautiful quilts made by women from various areas. i love the details and colors on the quilts! ♥

as i was looking through the main exhibit, a docent offered to give me a private tour because he still had an hour to go before the museum tour began. it was really generous of him and i learned so much!

it was nice to learn about the art from a real person rather than from the short descriptive text next to the art. plus, i also had the chance to talk with the docent and ask him questions.

afterward, i still had a chance to wander the museum on my own.

it was nice that there weren't too many visitors (and staff) because that meant i could enjoy the galleries all to myself. it definitely made the whole museum experience more enjoyable.

the other galleries included the arts of pacific asia, china, korea, and japan.

and outside in the courtyard, i enjoyed the beauty of God's creation.
