i have such a weak spot for terrariums and succulents. luckily, pinterest is like the ultimate inspiration board for such lovely things! over the years i've made quite a few simple planters for friends with the succulents in my (now overgrown and out of control) garden. but this time i wanted to try something a little more creative-- and so i bought moss! hopefully, each attempt will be better than the one before.

i started with a small glass jar, a bag of rocks, and some gardening soil.


then i selected a few succulents that would possibly fit into the jar.


then the layering process began-- assorted rocks, followed by spanish moss, soil,



and after the succulents went in, a layer of green moss.


the best thing is that these plants don't need a lot of water. the succulents are pretty resilient, even if you don't have a green thumb.
