there were some meerkats standing on the rocks,
a beautiful sumatran tiger lounging in the shade,
and a false gharial resting in the waters. this endagered species is quite a beauty!
there were also flamingos by the water,
and desert bighorn sheep on the hill.
it was pretty warm out, so many animals took afternoon naps away from the sun,
or moved about slowly-- especially these giant aldabra tortises!
the grevy's zebras looked beautiful in their stripes,
and of course, we couldn't leave without visiting one of my favorites-- the southern gerenuk.
